Manhattan Chamber of Commerce Special Meeting Minutes

Present: Donna Bateman, Becky Bouck, Kristy Byers, Mary Kay Cooper, Shari Fiocca, Tim McGrath and Kevin Sing.
Absent: Joe Cerullo
Shari called the meeting to order at 3:30 pm to consider filling the vacancy left by Administrative Assistant Peggy Kraatz’s resignation.
Kevin mentioned that Shelly Lewis is not a full-time Village employee, has experience working with the Chamber and may be able to help out in the interim.
While an app may be helpful to keep track if paying an hourly wage, the group decided on a salary. Based on previous hours submitted, Kevin moved and Kristy seconded a motion for a $350 a month salary. The new assistant would need to know that some months would require more hours than others.
Kevin will write a job description to post on local social media sites. The deadline for responding to the job will be 30 days out.
Part of the job description will be a minimum of posting on line at least three days a week. Another aspect is personally reaching out to members especially those who have not renewed. Ambassadors can also assist with that.
Shari, Donna and Mary Kay will serve on the interview committee.
Welcome Bags: If the chamber purchases shelving, then more bags could be made and stored. Currently the number of bags filled with items is limited due to the space for storing them on the floor. Adding to the job description will be making sure the correct items are in the bags and assigning delivery persons.
Feb. 12 is the next regular meeting at 3:30 in the Chamber’s meeting room.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:20 pm.
