Lincoln-Way 210 Educational Foundation
The mission of the Lincoln-Way Foundation for Educational Excellence is to creatively generate financial support with which to enrich and enhance the opportunities & educational experiences of Lincoln-Way students. For over 25 years, the success of the Foundation is a reflection of Manhattan community support, the dedication of our board of directors as well as countless volunteers. Please visit https://youtu.be/3ZRN21oGV2w for a short video of how donations benefit the students at all three high schools. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, several annual fundraising activities support the fundraising goals of the Foundation:
Cents for Kids - is an employee payroll deduction program. Faculty and staff choose to support Lincoln-Way students by donating a set amount to the Foundation each pay period. If your company has a payroll deduction or matching program, please let us know as the Foundation would welcome your support!
Commemorative Bricks - The Foundation is proud to offer the opportunity to recognize Lincoln-Way students, alumni, families & staff with commemorative bricks. Each $100 commemorative brick will be placed along the walls outside the desired high school auditorium, allowing the honoree’s name to become a permanent part of his or her building. It’s a unique gift idea to recognize achievements or birthdays & even holidays- especially for Christmas.
Dinner Gala & Auction - provides an evening of food, fun, friendship & fundraising. Everyone is invited to join us on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at the Odyssey Country Club in Tinley Park. If you would like to make reservations, be a sponsor or donate items for the silent or live auction, please visit https://lwef2020.givesmart.com or contact Bob Kennedy or Kathy Zolfo at 815-462-2976.
The Lincoln-Way Half Marathon - was expanded to include a 10K in 2019. Proceeds from this race go directly towards the Foundation’s mission. The race will be on Saturday, September 12, 2020 starting around 7 am, so lace up those running shoes & join us!
School Calendar 2019/2020-is a “must-have” for Lincoln-Way families, offered online with registration or at scheduled pick-up in August. Local businesses have discovered that placing an ad in the calendar is a cost-effective way to share their message with the families of Lincoln-Way students. Place your business ad in the calendar & connect with Lincoln-Way families! They are currently available for $15 at all main offices, each containing hundreds of dollars in valuable coupons.
Summer Fest - is held at CD & ME in Frankfort. The 7/17/20 event will have up to three bands performing (rain or shine) in the beautiful surroundings from 6 pm till 11 pm. There is food & refreshments at this 21 and older event. What a great place to meet up with friends, classmates or hold an alumni/reunion event. Come out with a group & enjoy live music under the stars in 2020! Tickets will be sold at the three high schools as well as CD n ME & Ticketmaster. A limited number of tables can be reserved for a donation by contacting Bob Kennedy at 815-462-2976.
Planned Giving - is an important consideration in proper estate planning. For more than 66 years, Lincoln-Way High School has provided one of the finest educational experiences to families in the state. It is the goal of our Foundation to continue to support that mission for decades to come, but we need your help. Planned gifts give both you, the donor & the Foundation, an opportunity to map out a stable financial future. Planned gifts include bequests, trusts, annuities and more. A planned gift gives you the chance to donate at a time that is best for you, and may provide several tax benefits. We can help provide estate planning tools so that you can look ahead & find for a way to include the Lincoln-Way Foundation for Educational Excellence in your overall financial plan.
