Manhattan Chamber of Commerce Meeting Minutes
Due to the CoronaVirus pandemic, the meeting was held as a zoom Call.
May 11, 2021

Present: Kevin Malloy, Kevin Sing, Donna Bateman,Shari Fiocca, Kristy Byers, Becky Bouck, Brittany Rojek, Joe Cerullo, along with administrative assistant Mandie Wade.

The meeting was called to order at 3:40pm.
Treasurer’s Report: Kristy Motioned and Shari Seconded to approve Treasurer’s report. Motion carried.
Secretary’s Report: Kristy Motioned and Shari seconded to approve the Secretary’s report. Motion carried.
Chamber Board Picture: Chamber Board photo will be Thursday, May 13th at 4:30pm
Banner Renewal: Headed by Shari. Shari said that she is still getting all of the quotes together for new banners.
Ladies Night Out: Headed by Kristy. Date will be Wednesday, September 1st from 5pm-7pm with setup beginning between 4pm-4:30pm. Vendors will need to supply their own tables and chairs. We will also need to provide parking for the Tobacco store.
Craft Show: Headed by Mandie. Date will be Saturday, June 19th. All final details of the event will be discussed at the next event.
Oktoberfest: Donna checked tent prices for the event from Windy City tent rentals and Joliet tent Will check costs to confirm that walls are included in the prices that were quoted. The Oktoberfest Committee will begin reaching out to organizations regarding sponsorships and organizations that are willing to participate in the event for three hour increments. Potentially 9
organizations will be needed to cover the total time of the event. Discussed the possibility of raising money through Super Bowl Squares for Oktoberfest 2022. The next Oktoberfest committee meeting will be on May 24th.
Labor Day Fun Day: This event will still take place along with the parade so long as everything continues to reopen from the pandemic and the Governor allows the event to take place. Kevin S. proposed that the Village, Chamber and possibly Park District perform the fireworks this year and that he will take over scheduling for them. Money that was raised by the
Chamber of Commerce for fireworks will be put towards the fireworks as well. Kristy motioned and Kevin S. seconded the motion. Motion for fireworks carried.
Scholarships: Headed by Kristy. Kristy said that everything with the Scholarships has been completed.
Kristy motioned to end the meeting and Shari seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Meeting was adjourned at 4:45pm The next Chamber Board meeting will be on Tuesday,
June, 8th at 3:30pm Via Zoom.
