Manhattan Chamber of Commerce Meeting Minutes
Meeting was held in Person at Village Hall.
May 10, 2022

Present: Donna Bateman, Kristy Byers, Becky Bouck, Brittany Rojek, Shari Fiocca, Brad
Hay, along with administrative assistant Mandie Wade.
Absent: Kevin Molloy and Joe Cerullo


The meeting was called to order at 3:30pm.

Treasurer’s Report: Donna requested money be moved from checking into savings. Vote passed and $9,000 will be moved into savings.Donna will leave CD for another 3 months to see if rates change. Kristy motioned to approve & Brittany seconded. Motion carried

Secretary’s Report: Kristy motioned to approve, Brittany seconded. Motion carried.

Administrative Assistant’s Report: Business anniversary date will be added to Chamber applications. Brad and Mandie will go to T-Mobile to change the Cell phone and update the cell phone plan. Mandie will price out a pop up tent, two folding chairs and a table for Chamber events.

Scholarship Winner: Meagan F. Was the winner of the Manhattan Chamber Scholarship. Her and her family attended the board meeting to be awarded with the scholarship check, certificate and to take a picture.

School Board Referendum: Rusty Reagan also joined us at the board meeting to discuss the upcoming School board referendum. Rusty will also be joining us at our next networking event on Wednesday May 18th as our guest speaker. He will be discussing the school board referendum to our business community.

Craft/Vendor events: May’s craft/vendor event has been rescheduled to August.

Ribbon Cutting for Dunkin Donuts: June 1st at 11am. Mandie will reach out to Dunkin Donuts for additional information on this event so we can begin marketing it.

Ribbon Cutting for Kid Country’s Anniversary: Will be on June 4th. Becky will pick up cake from Kirby’s and bring it to the event.

Heritage Fest: Will be at the Round Barn on June 11th. The chamber will be hosting a craft/vendor fair during this event. Becky will touch base with the Park District to see if we will be required to provide insurance for this event.

Labor Day Event: Will be held at the Round Barn. The Chamber will be hosting a scavenger hunt leading up to this event. Prize baskets will be given away to winners. Becky will reach out to the Village to see if we are required to have insurance for this event.

Sponsorships: The Chamber will begin creating sponsorship opportunities for our upcoming events.

Ladies night out: August 31st set up at 5:00. Event will run from 5:30-8:00. Should have signs for additional parking in Wabash St. parking lot put up for this event.

Cards: Shari will price out blank cards with the Chamber logo on the outside that the Chamber can use to mail to our members for anniversaries and holidays.

Meeting was adjourned at 4:50. Next board meeting will be on June 14th at 3:30 at the Village of Manhattan meeting room.
