Secretary’s Report: Kevin Sing motioned to approve the report and Shari Fiocca seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Administrative Assistant’s Report for July: Total Membership as of September-86. Renewals will be prorated for brand members based off of the month that they join.
Business Card Books: Still have books that will need to be put together for Craft shows and Ladies night Out. Becky, Donna, Brittany and Mandie have volunteered to put these together. Ladies night out should have at least 100 business card books and the craft show should have 50 business card books to be passed out to guests of these events.
Banner Renewal: Order is waiting on proofs to be returned and submitted to the Chamber Businesses that have ordered a banner for approval.
Ladies Night Out: Headed by Kristy, had a great turnout this year. A suggestion for next year is to have more signage.
Craft Show: Headed by Mandie. The last craft show of the year was on August 28th. This event went over very well in town, a suggestion was to begin the craft shows earlier in the year to incorporate Mother’s Day.
Oktoberfest: Headed by Kevin M. Event will take place on October 9th pending covid restrictions. Event will be very family oriented and potentially offer a 5k run, blood drive, vaccination clinic, coat drive by Brittany Rojek, hay rides, hay maze, food trucks, bonfire (with the Fire Chief’s approval), face painting, craft fair, petting zoo, games, and potentially a pub crawl to and from Fritz’s, Gallaghers, Wine bar and Road House 52. All businesses that are participating in the event need to submit their Certificate of Insurance prior to the event. Final meeting with all businesses in attendance will be on September 24th.
Labor Day Parade: Headed by Donna, had a fantastic turnout! Moving forward, one person will be in charge of all communications between Chamber and Village to limit any confusion. A few items to consider for next year's parade are do we need a MC for the Parade as it is hard to hear them and Should we have judges for the floats?
Luncheon: The Chamber has begun having monthly Luncheons. These Luncheons will be held on the third Wednesday of each month beginning at 12pm. They will last approximately one hour and lunch will be provided to those members that are in attendance. A different guest speaker will also attend each month. October’s Luncheon will be on Wednesday October 20th.
Chamber Board Meetings: Meetings will be held in person at the Village Hall on the Second Tuesday of every month. Zoom will also be available for members who are unable to attend in person.
Annual Member Dinner & selecting new board: Dinner will be on November 16th beginning at approximately 5 pm. Gattos in New Lenox has been reserved for this event. Officer applications to be considered for the new board need to be sent out in October.
Chamber Board Elections: Board members terms that will expire in November 2021 are Becky, Joe, Donna and Kevin S. Voting for new board members will take place at the annual member dinner. When the new board has begun their term, the chamber board will have a strategic planning session that will last approximately 3-4 hours. During this time, all of the events will be planned for the upcoming year and committees for each event will be formed at this time as well.
Letters to Santa: Will run November 25th through December 10th. The Chamber will need to secure a new mailbox for letters.
Meeting was adjourned at 5:22pm. Kevin Sing motioned to end the meeting & Brittany Rojek Seconded motion. Motion carried. Next Board Meeting will be on October 12th at 3:30pm at the Village Hall.
Respectfully Submitted,
Becky Bouck
