Manhattan Park District

Our mission at the Park District is to provide quality recreation and education programs, facilities, parks and open space that meet the leisure needs and improve the quality of life for residents of Manhattan.  Facilities will be available to all residents and the interests and needs of all age groups will be addressed.

Manhattan-Elwood Public Library

Library Hours:
Monday- Thursday:  10:00am–7:00pm
Friday:  10:00am–5:00pm
Saturday: 10:00am-2:00pm

We are dedicated to serving the residents of Manhattan and Elwood by providing a wide variety of books, audio books, e-books, CD’s, DVDs, and video games.  In addition to providing virtually unlimited access to information, we also provide numerous FREE programs and activities that enlighten, entertain, and enrich the lives of those in our community. If you haven’t visited us in a while, we invite you to stop by and see the many changes that have taken place over the last year!  Our Children and Teens now have their own space to spread out a little, and we have added much needed seating areas in the main library.

Our Library board meets on the 4th Monday of each month at 4:30pm.

Lincoln-Way Community HS - District 210

District Office – 1801 E. Lincoln Highway – New Lenox, Illinois 60451

School District 210 is located 40 miles southwest of Chicago and serves about 90,000 residents from the villages of Frankfort, Joliet, Manhattan, Mokena, New Lenox and Tinley Park as well as large unincorporated areas. More than half the district’s 105-square-mile area remains open land used primarily for farming.

Providence Catholic High School

Providence Catholic High School is a Catholic, coeducational, diocesan secondary school administered by the Augustinians. We are staffed by both religious and lay people. The school has been located in New Lenox, Illinois since 1962. Our current enrollment is approximately 1150 students.

St. Joseph Catholic School

St. Joseph Catholic School – Main office: 275 W. North Street – Manhattan, IL 60442

The school provides instruction for first through eighth grades as well as a half day program for kindergarten and pre-school programs for 3-year-olds and  4-year-olds.  Class size is held to a maximum of 25 students per grade with a State of Illinois certified teacher.  Pre-school classes, kindergarten and 1st grade also have a classroom
assistant assigned to them to provide an excellent child to adult ratio.

Joliet Junior College

Lewis University
